Nuthin' but Natives is unique in the services that are provided. The core business of Nuthin' but Natives is the propagating and supply of native plants, the sale of seed as well as offering a range of revegetation services to government, business and domestic customers.
Meeting and attaining a best environmental practice standard in relation to seed collection. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and conduct ourselves in a professional manner at all times.
Nuthin' but Natives are serious about protecting the environment and have subsequently developed a Code of Practice that is designed with this in mind.
All relevant permits are applied for as required from National Parks and Wildlife.
The business has expanded our collection activity to include the Northern Flinders Ranges, upper and far northern areas of South Australia.
All native seed collected is documented with information regarding the site of collection and other relevant information for specific collections.
All native seed having long viability is stored appropriately. Seed with limited viability is only collected on order and/or for propagation in our nursery.
The establishment of the wholesale native nursery began earlier than initially planned purely due to the interest expressed by many people. The aim is to see native species being more widely used in conventional gardens as well as continuing to promote revegetation on larger scales.
The nursery carries a diverse range of native species from grasses to shrubs to mallees and tall trees. Recently seed collection of many arid land species has occurred and these will be introduced as time progresses, many of which would never have been seen in a nursery environment.
The list of mainstream native species, which currently extends to 150 including, eucalypts, melaleucas, acacias, eremophilas and many more. This list is always growing including not only tall trees, ornamentals, mallees, shrubs but also native annuals, flowers and grasses. The majority of species germinated and grown in the nursery originate from seed collected by Nuthin' but Natives.
With the relocation to 4 Stephens Street it was possible to establish a retail branch to the nursery. This is a specific area housing a selection of all available plants for sale. It enables retail customers the opportunity to purchase high quality natives from a specialist in this field.
Nuthin' but Natives have a keen interest in revegetation projects, of any size, and enjoy watching the site transform after the project has been completed. Our aim is to assist the landowner/client in any way and listen to their needs prior to viewing the site. We can advise on all aspects from original planning to site preparation, selection of natives, planting design through to assisting with planting.
Our experience and knowledge of the species suitable for certain areas within the region is a great asset to securing revegetation projects and ensures a successful outcome.
We have previously performed and will continue to conduct vegetation surveys of the species of natives within the greater collection area. This information is all thoroughly documented for future reference. We have particular interest in the northern regions of South Australia in areas with limited data in this area.
Native seed is available or can be collected specifically for sale to customers wishing to undertake their own revegetation projects or to seed suppliers Australia wide.
If native seed is transported interstate all quarantine requirements are met where applicable and all seed is accompanied with data sheets detailing the collection activity.
